Old Clamp Restoration
Переглядів 18 тис.2 роки тому
In this project, we restored an old OLYMPOS F clamp (Bar Clamp). Due to the high corrosion of the clamp and bends in some of the parts, the project turned out to be much more difficult than it was expected. We made a handle out of walnut wood for the clamp since its original handle was missing. For bluing, we used Birchwood Casey super blue bluing liquid. We used Myford ML7 lathe in this restor...
DIY T-handle Tap Wrench
Переглядів 5 тис.2 роки тому
During a restoration project of “The TRANSFORMER”, we needed to make a threaded bore on a V belt pulley. It was not possible to use our bar wrench. Also, we didn't have a T-handle tap wrench at that moment. So we decided to make a homemade T-handle tap wrench and share a video of this mini-project with you. As you see in the video, if you want to make this T handle tap wrench, you should print ...

It is possible to use additional punches and dies for different needs. According to the dimensions of the hydraulic press, the maximum usable width of the press brake is about 35 centimeters. Also, the capacity of this hydrauli...
Old Hand Crank Grinder Restoration
Переглядів 11 тис.2 роки тому
In this project, we restored an old hand crank grinder. Fortunately, the gears of this bench grinder were in good condition. However, it was missing a handle, so we made a handle using steel and walnut wood. We used a woodturning attachment for our drill press that showed in the previous short video: ua-cam.com/video/PolmUJzYsZA/v-deo.html We also replaced the grinding wheel with a new one sinc...

DIY Belt Grinder
Переглядів 1,4 млн3 роки тому
In this project, we made a small belt grinder (belt sander). For that, we used an old 1.5 hp electric motor (we recommend a 2 HP motor or higher), a 70x5 cm belt sander, some off-the-shelf bearings, and a few metal pieces. We used Autodesk Inventor to create the 3D model and the drawings. You can modify the design to suit your needs. We share the PDF drawings and Inventor files here and hope th...

DIY Welding Magnet
Переглядів 7 тис.3 роки тому
In this project, we make two welding magnets. Welding magnets are relatively strong magnets that can stick to metal surfaces and hold them at 90, 45/135 and 60/120 degrees angles. They are extremely useful tools when quick and accurate setup at different angles is required. We used Autodesk Inventor to create the 3D model and the drawings of the welding magnets. We share the PDF, DWG drawings a...

Переглядів 3,8 тис.3 роки тому
In this video we restore an old rusty spring scale (Pocket Balance). It is about 60 years old and made in Germany. The maximum capacity of this scale is 100 kilograms which made it quite challenging to test. We hope you will like our restoration work on this pocket balance by watching this video. Don't forget to subscribe to "The TRANSFORMER". We will publish more projects soon.

I am always wondering what type of primer and paint being used. Must it be a heat resistant ones like used for bbq grills, or any other ones will do?

The thing is not even in bad shape, all it needs is to be cleaned
Although it came out nice it was painful to watch. Why so many of you makers don’t have the right tools for the job. E gads man! An angle grinder to cut everything. Just think if you had a bandsaw and a milling machine. Seriously, the time and effort to put in those slots alone. And making the fingers by grinding alone. I’m curious as to what steel you used for them. Doesn’t appear you got them cherry red before the oil quench , and that’s even if they are O-1 tool steel to begin with. Something I did on mine was to simply use 3 inch thick walled angle iron for the bottom die. I welded a piece of iron flipped over on both sides for support. I also made an insert die using a smaller piece of angle with the inside angle milled square. You can lay this in to get a small tight radius. These brakes work awesome on a Harbor Freight press with an air over hydraulic Jack. Beats the heck out of all that hand cranking. I did enjoy the way you produced your video however. Very nicely done🤙🏻
Ok
Ridiculous
Very nice your job, congratulations
Pretty cool, I found a Hanson 8910 in the barn and would like to refresh it. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a blessed week.
Oh the irony. There were so many parts he fabricated for this belt grinder that could have been made so much more easily and quicker if only he'd had ....... Erm.......... a belt grinder. :D
this is fantastic

Hello, this press is very good made! Do you have some measurements? Want to try to make this kind of press for my workshop.
Hi, can you make a video on how to put the chunk springs back to place? thank you.
Зачем напильником если есть ушм🤔
If something shorts, won't that potentially screw with the magnetic field?
Very well made video..👍👏
сколько же металла в пустую ушло.... че нельзя было ближе к краю плиту рисовать?
switched off when you started filling holes with resin...sharp edges are bad its not a precision instrument ...this is silly and unnecessary
looks good to me ether way old or new, where did you find that very nice anvil..?
Работать напильником при наличии ушм не серьезн,мягко говоря.
That's a great project. Your use of heavy steel plate in its construction will add to its accuracy, rigidity, and longevity.
good~~~good!!
What a great advert for buying the cheepest of crap spring clamps. Even the rubbish clamps use brass or copper contacts. Making a mild steel earth clamp must make this a contender for the idiot of the year award.

Very professional work Thank you for sharing
i do not understand google telling me to change my password that i been using for 20 years in order to get plans GREAT VID THANX!
You would love a plasma cutter 😊
WoW. I created one, along these lines a few years ago. 2 x 42 inch one. Used a skateboard wheel ( with bearings ) as the top tracking. I put a slight convex curve in the face ( as it turned on a fast drill - with file ) to keep belt centred. As well, did the same for the 5.5 inch 2 pieces of 1 inch plywood, glued / screwed together, for the motor drive. Same convex curve, too. I used a 2 inch half-moon, round wood rasp, for the tracking on the skateboard wheel, on a welded - on shaft. VERY GOOD grip, to adjust it. Motor - 1 hp 3450 rpm. So, using the 2 inch tracking wheel, the belt probly goes over 5500 rpm. TAKES OFF metal really fast, using 80 grit belt. Anyway.....good luck, all. (salvaged magnets, from microwaves to catch the filings, on the bottom) THE world, is full of creative / inventive persons. BE / WORK / PLAY ENJOY LIFE SAFELY - wear a toque over your ears, ear protection, eye protection, steel toed boots, maybe a leather smock, when welding / grinding in shop. I've burnt enuff holes in clothes........so have you. Take care, Mr Xformer.......thanks, for the on-going education, for those whose MINDS are open, to NEW IDEAS.
How i order ??
Amazing resto job, I have one I want to redo, great inspiration 👍👍
